For the biking portion - I'll be bringing some new stuff, some old.
Some of my gear will be disposed of along the way, and some of it will be re-worn and re-purposed many times over on the trip...be thankful you are reading this blog from afar and not smelling me up close!
I'll highlight some of the items I'm taking with me below (but will certainly leave out the mundane items.)
Canon XSi DSLR Camera - 18-55mm lens & 55-250mm lens
Fuji Finepix XP30 - Waterproof Point & Shoot Camera (with built in GPS)
A good point & shoot that's not afraid to get wet...(no pun intended, but really - pun intended.)
Joby Gorillapod
To be used in several manners including;
- standard tripod
- for extended reach self portraits
- mounted to the handlebars for on bike action photos/videos
Reading Material
Planning, entertainment, and advice. The web has a lot to offer - but sometimes you are out of range.
North Face Base Camp Duffel - size medium
Everything for the bike portion of this trip will fit in this bag or be on my person.
REV'IT Air Jacket (brand new for trip)
A great lightweight, durable, and semi armored riding jacket.
HTC Incredible 2 (brand new for trip)
Not planning on making phone calls - but this GSM/CDMA dual band phone will enable me to make calls or send texts if I am in a pinch. Of course a few games of trans-continental Words with Friends might brighten my day also...
Nourishment
Not sure when I will be snacking on these babies, but you never know whats in store while on the road.
Fast Drying Towel
For those impromptu dips into the Aegean Sea.
(Purchased locally I might add - Tents & Trails. They also provided a handy dandy travelers check list. You'll be glad to know that "Stomach upset medication" & "Diarrea medication" are in fact separate line items!)
