Night 3, Morning of Day 4

An excellent dinner at the Venus Hotel and early to bed for a good nights rest.

A hearty breakfast this morning, and I am on the road at 08:45. A quick stop for petrol, and my first destination is the ancient city of Afrodisias. It's about 100km from Pamukkale.

Afrodisias is regarded as one of the best preserved of the ancient cities. I guess its as intact as you could expect after 2,000 years. Most of these Greek/Turkish Classical cities and sites leave a lot to the imagination.  A column here, a sarcophogus there, and you really need to use your mind to see most of it.

But as I mentioned, it's very intact or preserved in many places at Afrodisias. Kind of reminds me of being at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. But Caesars is much closer to its original state, must be that dry desert heat that keeps it looking good for so many years.

Another day,  another 2,000 year old amphitheater, nothing to see here people please move along. Back to the real issues like what will the Groupon IPO be priced at, did the Mets win last night, and is there a new episode of Khloe & Lamar on tonight?

On the road again to Sirince, the small wine village outside of Selcuk and close Ephesus...

More in a bit.
