Night 1/Day 2...

I've managed my best to get on GMT +2 time. Sleeping the full night without any day naps yesterday so I am fresh for my first day on the bike.

Yesterday afternoon, I heard from my motorcycle host Robert of Bike Turkey on the telephone for the first time. Couple that with seeing his upscale shop in town, quickly reassured me that I was in fact going to be making this bike trip. It erased any visions in my mindt that I was lured to Southwest Turkey for some high-level abduction for sale into a sex-slave trade scenario...so I got that going for me.

The evening last night was a mellow one. Dinner at West Cafe portside in Gocek. Classical Turkish food, some kind of lamb/beef combo smothered in yogurt sauce ( yum to me, but terror to a lactose intolerant).
Followed by a stroll around town. An acoustic guitarist playing Pink Floyd - "Wish you were here." Children playing in the streets, large groups of friends enjoying dinner into the late evening, just what beach holidays should be.

Continental breakfast this morning at the Efe Hotel, and I'm getting the bike in about 1 hour. The rest of the posts will be from the road. Hopefully the WiFi is as robust out on the trail.

Still trying to figure out a way to get some pictures into these blogs from my cameras memory cards. Would certainly go a long way to sprucing this up over my boring wordladen entries.

Heres hoping for the best on that front....
