It's 11:30am in Soke, Turkey....

And where is everyone's favorite Motorcycle Turkish Tourist...

Outlet shopping and drinking Starbucks, like every other Americano is!!

A full breakfast including an omelet this morning at the Gullu, then off to refuel and on to Ephesus.
Ephesus was really spectacular. A lot of it, as most Greek/Turk/Roman ruins from these times are crumbled or in poor shape, but here there is so much to see. You walk through the whole thing and you can really get a feel of it as an actual city. Theaters, shops, apartment blocks, libraries, the marketplace, the brothel (or "pleasure house" as its referred to in the guidebooks.), they are all right there and you can walk through it all.
Back on the bike and it feels like a scorcher today...gear up and head out.

Only about 70km in to the ride I reach the town of Soke, with the first signs of the West I have seen in days. A man riding a BMW 1200GS, a McDonalds, a Burger King, outlet shopping, and then there it is in the distance, the most holy of holy places, the Starbucks. I did a double take on the first pass and had to uturn and come back. Of course I grabbed my usual mocha frappuccino. Only this time it cost me approx $7.00!
So here I sit, for a few moments, blogging and drinking my cold frap, like the Gringo that I am.
A quick stop at the soccer shop outlet for a souvenir, and I am back to the road, still a lot of ground to cover today.

I should mention I'm in the shadows of a fairly large windfarm. These things are huge when you see them up close! Too bad its not windy here today, guess they will put those hampsters back on the wheel to keep the lights on.
