Turkiye...some opening remarks.

Here in Turkiye, let's set the record straight on a few things.
They drive on the right hand side of the road.
The Turkish lire is the official currency, not the Euro.
I have only seen maybe a dozen women in burkas or head dresses...quite shocking that the # is so low actually.
English seems to be fairly prevalent among people working at shoppes, restaurants, etc. But there are VERY few native English speaking tourists that I have encountered so far.
Free WiFi is rampant. Every kebab stand, cafe, beach bar, barber shop, harem....well you get the idea.
A strong sense of Nationalism here in Turkey as well. Flags flying everywhere, and what a nice flag it is!
Still TBD;
What's that jibberish blaring over the PA system 5x a day throughout the whole country?
What's with all the stray cats everywhere?
Booze so readily available in a Muslim land?
I have enjoyed my first beer and kebab (photo) for lunch today.
A lovely place called Kebab Hospital. It's certainly the best Turkish food I have ever eaten. (Also file under worst Turkish food I have ever eaten, as well as ONLY Turkish food I have ever eaten.)
Gocek is a very nice port town. Reminds me of Port Jefferson, NY mixed with Capo D'Orlando, Sicily. Lots of harbor side cafes, a relaxing vacation vibe, about a dozen 125'+ yachts...
Weather has been great here so far. Poolside this afternoon and very pleasant in the evening.
